So in the process of trying all these supplements and hair mineral analysis, we were able to get my son off of his Melatonin to help him sleep. However......although he now will go to sleep, most nights not until between 10 and 11pm. This is an hour or more AFTER we put him to bed.
He is up and down many times. Stalling, playing games, driving me nuts! And needless to say, not helping our marital relationship in any way!
UGH!

Stress
Had our parent meeting last week for the Montessori Middle school. Have to say, it left me a little scared! I know that they know these kids don't come to them fully grown and matured. But some of what they expect sounds like they think they are grown and matured.
They do these trips for 3 and 4 days at a time. They call them land labs. I had to talk to my son about the fact that he will have to remember things like brushing his teeth and changing his underwear! Some may think he should already be doing that on his own. But please! He'll only be 12 next month and he is so ADHD, I'm lucky he doesn't leave the house naked!
I have to trust that the decision to put him in that school will be good. The teachers seem awesome. Really different and more charismatic than you often find public school teachers to be. And I'm not coming down on public school teachers. These are the people I work with, they are wonderful people. But a Montessori charter school has a little more leeway when it comes to letting their personalities shine I think.
The one thing I'm not thrilled about - summer homework! He has it, yuck!
